As you may not know, StoryShout gives 5% of its monthly profits to non-profit organizations that further women, journalism, and girls who have an interest in STEM.
I have been behind on posting monthly updates of donations for StoryShout, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t giving! Our regular donations go to DonorsChoose, GirlsWhoCode, Harvesters, and ProPublica, just to name a few.
For our monthly non-profit for May, I chose The Scientista Foundation, a New York-based non-profit that focuses on being a resource for campus women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Besides articles written by women in STEM, it also offers job opportunities, college chapters, and an annual conference to get more women in STEM careers.
I like Scientista because they have an actionable model that can produce results:
I hope StoryShout’s giving will inspire your own!
