What’s worse than one blank page? TWO!

No, seriously. A blank page is one of the most terrifying sights… especially if it’s your livelihood.

Writers have long lamented the writing process. And traditionally topics like writer’s block are top on the list of fears. Which brings us to this post…this post is being written for one reason and one reason only: We want to help you write your next blog post.

What? Of course, you already know how to write a blog post. What decent writer doesn’t? But alas, writing a blog post falls into the black hole of “easier said than done.”

You may be able to knock out a blog post but here’s the real question, “Is it any good?” Before you attempt to answer that question, give this post a read. We promise you won’t regret it!

How To Write A Blog Post

When it comes to a blog, there are multiple ways to start but our favorite is at the beginning.

They say you make a first impression within a matter of seconds. That same concept applies to your blog post so make your first sentence count.

It’s up to you to decide what type of opening line will be the most impactful. Is a statistic the right choice? A delightful simile? Or is a funny quip the best choice?

No matter your choice, pay close attention to the option you choose as it’s defining the tone for the rest of the post.

Does anyone else refer to the middle of their post as the “meat?” Just us? Okay… moving on.

The meat of your post is the best part. The introduction got them hooked but this will keep them coming back. In the era of multitaskers, it’s helpful to get to the point. If your content can be bulleted, do it. It’s easier to read and even easier to recall later on.

Grand Finale

There’s a reason Disney ends the night with a fireworks show. Going out with a bang is the best way to go! Mimic this by spicing up your ending. Either leave them wanting more by teasing more information to come or close the deal by circling back to the introduction. Better yet, tie in a joke that has them chuckling.

No matter what you choose, make it memorable!

This was just a quick crash course on Blogging 101. Let us know if you’d be interested in more help or if you’re a more advanced blogger in search of some more targeted advice. Either way, we’d love to help you find your voice and build the best blog post you can.
